Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Review

Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, the most anticipated video game of all time hit the shelves today and one word says it all... AWESOME.  I know that word is used a lot these days (especially by me) but this game is a MUST PLAY.  There are a number of game play improvements over Call of Duty: Modern Warfare including a TON of new weapons, graphical realism, and enemy movement.    The game starts by allowing the user to select the screen margin which is a HUGE improvement over previous versions.  What this means is that you can set the gameplay to fill your entire screen or set a border.  Your choice.

The game includes storyplay in Russia, Afghanastan, the frozen tundra of the former Soviet Union, and even the oil rigs of the North Atlantic.  And of course, let's not forget the storyline brings Russia into the United States where the user fights everywhere from main street to the Capital Building to the White House.  From undersea with SDV (SEAL Delivery Vehicle) Team locking out of submarines, to Spy-Rigging out of the Gulag, snowmobile escapes, and unbelievably high-speed Zodiac chases... this game is FILLED with non-stop action.  The controls are more responsive than Modern Warfare, and you actually have to hit your targets in this one to get a kill.  In Modern Warfare, I noticed that in storymode, you only need to get close to a target to get the kill.  Not in Modern Warfare 2!  You actually have to hit the target and the enemy characters actually respond to WHERE you hit them.  Arm, or leg and they continue to fight.  Head shots are a sure fire "dream maker."

One of my favorite enhancements is how breaches are done.  You place a frame charge on a doorway and once it goes off you enter the room in "bullet time" allowing you to perform your assault and close quarter battle (CQB) in slow motion.  Always remember to check your targets cause there are LOTS of hostages to rescue.

The storyline seemed quite a bit shorter than Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and I was able to complete the entire story in just a few hours.  Overall, this is a FANTASTIC work by Infinity Ward, and worth every penny.
